What are some of the worst proteins that are slowing down your metabolism?

Protein itself if consumed in the right amounts and the right quantity is not harmful. Protein is a macronutrient that contains amino acids that help maintain muscle mass, aid in muscle recovery, and it also helps with satiety. 20-30% of your daily intake should be high quality protein, from eggs, fish, poultry, beef, pork, protein powders and vegetarian sources like beans. The additives, preservatives dyes etc. added to the protein is what slows down the metabolism.

A woman’s body can only absorb 25-30 grams of protein in one sitting, possibly slightly more (5 grams) if they just finished a intense long exercise sessions. A double scoop of protein powder or a huge chicken breast that contains more then 30 grams of protein will not absorb as we hope it will. The excess protein gets filtered through the kidneys and is removed from the body as waste. If protein is consumed in excess all of the time, the kidneys will be strained and can result in damage eventually. We recommend .8-1.0 grams per pound of your goal body weight.

The protein containing foods that can have negative effect on your metabolism includes processed luncheon meats, hot dogs and/or sausages. The preservatives and additives in these items have been related to increasing your risk for cancer, toxic to the thyroid, and increase the risk for obesity. It’s not the protein that can damage metabolism, it is the additives in the food that contain the protein.

Genetically modified Soy products are some of the worst products we can consume. Mainstream soy (veggie) burgers, nuggets, sausage, etc. are harmful to the overall hormone balance. GMO- soy products mimic estrogen, resulting in a estrogen dominance and imbalanced metabolism. Estrogen dominance can increase risk for certain cancers, weight gain, thyroid issues, and disruptive cycle.

What are the best anti-inflammatory foods for weight loss?
Inflammation is stress on the body, excessive free radicals that become oxidized and can manifest into sickness, cancer, weight gain, etc. Inflammation can also compromise the integrity of your gut lining resulting in nutrient deficiencies, irritable bowel and reduced quality of life. The best anti-inflammatory foods are rich in heart healthy fats and antioxidants. These include cold water fish like salmon, walnuts, flax seeds, dark berries, lemons and limes and dark leafy greens.

What are some examples of anti-inflammatory foods that help
with weight loss or to speed up the metabolism?
Anti-inflammatory foods are typically rich in heart healthy fats, and antioxidants. These foods include cold water fish like salmon, walnuts, flax seeds, dark berries, dark leafy greens, to name a few.

Hydroxide rich alkaline water reduces acidity and inflammation. Aim to drink at least half of your body weight in ounces of this special water daily. The best one I found through my research is AQUA OH! Instead of just buffering the acid like most Alkaline waters do, it eliminates the acid and drastically reduced the inflammation caused by the acids. This is done by the OH- (hydroxide) seeking out the H+ (which causes the Acidity) and forming water. It is also all natural (made from limestone) and comes as a concentrate so it is about 250% less expensive than other alkaline waters and works better.

What is it about these foods that contribute to weight loss or less weight gain? These foods are whole unprocessed foods that your body has to work to break down and digest. Because these foods are not processed your body absorbs more of the nutrients, fiber, water, etc. These foods will keep your body in an optimal nutrient state resulting in less junk food cravings and better portion control when you are eating.

What do anti-inflammatory foods actually do? They will restore the gut, decrease the risk for harmful free radicals to oxidize into disease, improve energy, promote optimal weight management, and of course reduce inflammation.
